Meet Evelien
Change often begins with closure, loss, and letting go. The impact a change has, and the emotions it evokes, differ for each individual.
This becomes very visible, for example, when the work environment changes. Saying goodbye to the workspace as you knew it, letting go of your own fixed desk, and at first not clearly understanding what the change will really mean or what you will get in return. The disadvantages are felt, while the benefits are not yet visible. That is why it is crucial to keep explaining why the change is necessary, while at the same time showing understanding for the effect the change has on people.
This is anything but simple. People are very different. Personality, values, drivers, and interests all come into play when you want to bring people along in a change.
As a behaviour and change consultant, I focus on the change process of both the team and the individual, while also keeping an eye on the interests and ambitions of the organisation. Fascinated by the differences between people and by the strength that lies in making use of these differences, I am driven to create connection between parties. Everyone matters, and it is valuable to look at issues from multiple perspectives. When I see better collaboration emerge, or when people ultimately become happy with the change, that is what gives me job satisfaction. I enjoy helping to break patterns and create movement, where every step counts. Because what is a small step for one person can be a very big step for another.
